Source: Steam

Doloc Town is played primarily with the keyboard and mouse on PC. The default bindings are built around quick platform placement, scrapping, and farming, so most actions sit close to the left hand. If you are coming from other building or farming sims, the layout should feel familiar within a few minutes. These are the default controls as shipped on Steam; you can adjust most of them in the settings menu.

Movement and camera

  • WASD: Move your scavenger around the wasteland.

  • Space: Jump onto ledges and platform edges.

  • Left Shift: Sprint while exploring between weather events.

  • Mouse movement: Rotate the camera around your character.

  • Mouse wheel: Zoom the camera in and out to line up platform placement.

Building and tools

  • Left mouse button: Use the selected tool, harvest crops, or scrap objects.

  • Right mouse button: Open the build menu for platform pieces.

  • E: Interact with containers, crafting stations, and farm plots.

  • Q: Cycle through equipped tools.

  • R: Rotate the platform or object you are about to place.

Inventory and menus

  • Tab: Open the main inventory screen.

  • I: Toggle the crafting panel showing collected materials.

  • 1 through 9: Select hotbar slots for crops, tools, and building pieces.

  • Esc: Pause the game and open the settings menu.

Tip

Use the mouse wheel to pull the camera out before a big build session. Seeing several platform levels at once makes it easier to plan your vertical farm before you commit materials.

Gamepad

Doloc Town supports DualShock and DualSense controllers, though controller support is partial. When a PlayStation controller is connected, the game shows the matching on-screen button prompts. The default gamepad layout mirrors the keyboard controls closely, so you can switch back and forth without relearning the game.

  • Left stick: Move your character.

  • Right stick: Rotate and adjust the camera angle.

  • A button: Interact with objects and confirm menu selections.

  • X button: Open the build menu for platform pieces.

  • Y button: Open inventory.

  • B button: Cancel or go back in menus.

  • LB / RB: Cycle through hotbar slots.

  • LT: Place the selected platform or object.

  • RT: Use the equipped tool, harvest, or scrap.

  • Left stick click: Toggle sprint.

  • Right stick click: Reset the camera to its default angle.

  • Start button: Pause and open settings.

  • View / Select button: Open the map or quest log.

Note

Because controller support is partial, you may still need the keyboard and mouse inside text entry fields and some menu screens. Keep a keyboard nearby when renaming your farm or searching for recipes.

Tips and rebinding

Doloc Town lets you rebind most actions from the settings menu. Press Esc during gameplay, open settings, and look for the controls tab. From there you can assign new keys for movement, building, inventory, and camera actions. Your custom bindings are saved locally and sync with Steam Cloud if you play on another PC.

Useful rebinding tips

  • Move Rotate from R to a mouse side button if you have one, so you can spin platforms while keeping your hand on movement.

  • Many players swap Q and E so tool cycling sits under the left index finger instead of the ring finger.

  • Set sprint to toggle instead of hold if you spend long stretches exploring between storms.

  • Move interact to F if you prefer harvesting with your right hand free for the mouse.

Accessibility options

Doloc Town includes several accessibility-focused features that affect how controls feel and how the screen responds to your input:

  • Camera Comfort: reduce camera shake and smooth rotation for longer play sessions.

  • Color Alternatives: switch UI and indicator colors to fit your preferences.

  • Custom Volume Controls: adjust audio channels independently.

  • Playable without Timed Input: nothing in the game forces you to react on a strict timer, so you can pause to read menus and plan builds.

Warning

If you rebind an action to a key that is already in use, Doloc Town may not save the assignment until you resolve the conflict. Clear the overlapping binding first, then apply your new key. Resetting the game to default settings also clears your custom bindings, so write down any unusual layouts before resetting.
