Town basics
Doloc Town is built around a simple loop: gather scrap, build platforms, plant crops, and keep everything alive as the weather turns against you. You start as a young scavenger with a ruined patch of land, and the town grows from the vertical farm you construct one platform at a time.
Your farm is the heart of the town. Every platform you place expands your usable space for crops, crafting stations, and automated drones. Before you worry about decorating, focus on establishing a reliable source of food and income, then reinvest into more platforms and better tools.
- Scrap gathering is your early source of building materials, so keep your tools repaired and your inventory organized.
- Planting crops early gives you both food and goods to sell. The first planted crop also clears the dead crop from your starting plot.
- Character stats affect how much you can carry and how efficiently you work, so check them before long farming sessions.
- Crafting materials from chests, fishing, and the environment feed into town upgrades, not just personal gear.
Treat the first few in-game days as setup, not progress. Gather scrap, plant your first crops, and build only the platforms you can actually use. Expanding too early leaves you with empty space and no resources to fill it.
Upgrades and progression
Town progression in Doloc Town moves through several distinct milestones. You unlock new capabilities by earning money, completing guild missions, and repairing key structures around the map. The Outpost Camp is one of the earliest hub unlocks, and later you can restore the Treaty Port with the Kon-Tiki Archipelago Alliance.
Money is the clearest measure of progress. The game tracks your earnings through achievements such as 1,000G,10,000G,100,000G, and finally 1,000,000G. Each threshold is a good checkpoint to pause and reinvest in the town.
- Guild missions reward cash and reputation. Complete 5 for the Adventurer achievement, 30 for Daily Grind.
- Chip analysis unlocks research. Complete 5 to earn Thirst for Knowledge, which points to a deeper tech tree.
- Automated drones eventually run your farm for you, but the basic drone requires an automated drone base station to function.
- Farm expansions are permanent upgrades. The final expansion unlocks the Boundless achievement.

Don't rush the highest-tier upgrades. Each step is gated by materials, money, and sometimes weather conditions. Switching to the dry season is a deliberate story choice, not something you stumble into, so plan your crops before you trigger it.
Layout tips
Because Doloc Town's farm is vertical and built platform by platform, layout matters more than in a flat farming sim. Grouping similar activities together cuts down on walking and makes drone routes simpler later.
- Keep crops near water and your home base to shorten daily watering and harvesting trips.
- Place crafting stations close to storage so material runs do not eat your whole day.
- Reserve a dedicated platform for animal housing once you raise your first animal. The Warmth of Life achievement marks this milestone.
- Expand the path on the far left of the farm when you can, since it unlocks additional access and is tracked as its own achievement.
Think about weather exposure when placing platforms. Since extreme weather is a core threat, platforms that leave crops unprotected may need more maintenance during storms. You can mitigate this by keeping essential production close to shelter.
Leave room for gene-modified crops later. Breeding crops with multiple genes is an endgame system, and cramped fields make it much harder to manage different seed types side by side.
Common mistakes
Most early frustration in Doloc Town comes from treating it like a standard flat farm. The vertical platform system changes priorities, and a few habits will save you time and materials.
- Building platforms you do not need yet. Each platform costs materials you could spend on tools, seeds, or upgrades. Build only what you will use within a day or two.
- Selling all your crops. Keep enough food for energy and cooking. Reaching 10 different recipes and later 50 recipes requires ingredients you may not be able to rebuy.
- Ignoring guild missions for farming. Missions are a reliable cash source that does not depend on harvest cycles, and they fund town upgrades faster.
- Neglecting drones until late game. Operating 20 automated drones simultaneously is a late achievement, but you should unlock the drone station early and learn its workflow before you rely on it.
- Forgetting reputation. Maxing out reputations with factions such as Doloc Town,Vulture Citadel,Skychild,Kon-Tiki, and Cerro Rico is a long-term goal, and reputation grows from the same missions and deliveries that fund your town.
Finally, do not ignore the weather forecast. The dry season is a major turning point, and crops that thrived before may struggle after the shift. Keep a mix of crop types so a single season change does not wipe out your income.
